Dr. Garro grew up in NJ. She has always had a huge love for all types of animals, rescuing anything she could including dogs, cats, squirrels, and even raccoons. Another passion of hers is riding horses. She has competed in show jumping for over 20 years. Dr. Garro attended undergraduate school at Cook College, Rutgers University. During her time at Rutgers she had the wonderful opportunity of being Captain of the Rutger's Equestrian Team and working as a Veterinary Technician for Dr. Brandon Furlong, the United States Equestrian Team's Veterinarian. She followed in her mentors foot steps and went to veterinary school In Ireland. Dr. Garro graduated with honors in small animal and large animal medicine from University College Dublin School of Veterinary medicine in 2000. After graduation, Dr. Garro worked for 3 years in a mixed animal practice in Ireland where her work focused on small animal medicine, surgery and equine reproduction. On her evenings on call you could find her assisting clients in all types of small animal and large animal emergencies, including performing C-sections on cattle and sheep or delivering foals.
Dr. Garro returned to the United States in 2004 and worked at several progressive small animal practices in NY and NJ before finally opening her own hospital in 2011. Her goal was to open a state of the art facility that provided the best possible medical care to her clients. Dr. Garro and her staff have devoted their lives to the care and well being of all animals and it shows.
Dr. Garro has special interests in veterinary dermatology, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. She is a member of the NJVMA (New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association), AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners) . She enjoys cycling, horseback riding, rock climbing, attending hockey games, but most of all spending time with her husband, two young boys and her crazy rescue dogs, Finn, Madison and Holly and her rescue cat, Flea.
Dr. Barbaris received her bachelor in biochemistry with an animal and poultry science minor from Virginia Tech. She went on to receive her veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Originally from Virginia, Dr. Barbaris relocated to Hudson county to begin her veterinary career and worked in small animal practice for 7 years before joining Butler Veterinary Hospital. Throughout her years of schooling she was heavily involved with multiple rescue groups and continues to be enthusiastic about rescue and adoption programs. She also has a special interest in preventative medicine and internal medicine. When she is not in the hospital, you can find her playing soccer or enjoying the outdoors hiking and spending time with her fiancé, Anthony, 2 island dog rescues (Carib and Stitch) and 3 cat rescues (Laney, Louie, and Bob).
Leigh-Ann grew up in West Milford. She is the proud mom to her dog Layla and cats Blaze and Rambo . At work she is known for her loving personality and helping others. In her spare time, you can find Leigh-Ann pet sitting, dog walking and enjoying time with her family and friends.
Manuela grew up in Dover, NJ. She always had a love for animals and landed her first job as a kennel assistant her senior year of high school. Manuela quickly excelled and was soon granted the title of veterinary technician. Outside of the veterinary field she really enjoys hiking with her dog Mia and spending time with friends and family.
Molly grew up in Rockland county. She worked at an animal hospital in New York for over five years, until she moved to Bergen county three years ago. Molly enjoys grooming, dog walking, and pet sitting on the side from her home. Aside from work, Molly sings with a few local bands.
